Katya is a visiting Ph.D. student from the Federal University of Paraiba in Joao Pessoa (Brazil) and will investigate the biological activities in cell culture models of a protein inhibitor she isolated. Katya will be staying in Hohenheim from February 2014 to January 2015.

Surat was a visiting postdoctoral researcher from the Research Institute for Health Sciences at Chiang Mai University (Thailand) and funded by a scholarship from the Food Security Center. During his 4-months stay at Hohenheim, Surat investigated the micronuttrient composition of lowland and upland rice varieties from Thailand.

Dr. Antonio Lama Muñoz holds a Ph.D. in food science and was a visiting postdoctoral fellow from the Department of Food Biotechnology of the Spanish National Research Council. During his 3-month stay at Hohenheim, he investigated the impact of selected olive oil phytochemicals on the metabolism and inflammatory processes in liver cells.
